COMPETITIVE PROGRAM
The Competitive Rhythmic Gymnastics Program is goverened by the USA Gymnastics Federation. Levels 3 to Level 8 follow the Junior Olympic Program designed by USA Gymnastics. This program allows for the progressive development of rhythmic gymnastics skills from one level to the next to prepare gymnasts for Levels 9 and 10. Levels 9/10 follow the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique Code of Points. Rhythmic gymansts can compete individually or in a Group. Level advancement (up to Level 9) for each individual gymnast is determined by the team's coaches at the end of each competitive season based on the gymnast's physical readiness, work ethic, discipline, time comitment, and other factors. Level 9 gymnasts must qualify to Level 10 at the US National Qualifiers.
Levels 3 & 4
Levels 3 and 4 compete with three routines each season including one floor routine and two apparatus routines. Our Level 3/4 gymnasts are encouraged to compete at local events. Level 4s are allowed to compete at State, Regional, and Open (National) Championships. Girls compete in their Age Divisions. Enrollment to Level 3 is open for everyone. For Levels 4-9, a coach assessment is required.
Minimum hours required per week:
Level 3: 2-4 hours/week
Level 4: 4-6 hours/week
Levels 5 & 6
Levels 5 and 6 compete with four routines each season including one floor routine and three apparatus routines. Our Level 5/6
gymnasts are encouraged to compete at invitational events and State and Regional Championships. Levels 5/6 must participate at the Regional Championships in order to compete at the Open (National)
Championship.
Minimum hours required per week:
Level 5: 6-12 hours/week
Level 6: 12-15 hours/week
Levels 7 & 8
Levels 7 and 8 compete with four routines each season including one floor routine and three apparatus routines. Our Level 7/8
gymnasts are encouraged to compete at invitational events, State and Regional Championships. Levels 7/8 must qualify at the Regional Championships in order to compete at the US National Championship.
Minimum hours required per week:
Level 7: 12-15 hours/week
Level 8: 15+ hours/week
Levels 9 & 10
Levels 9 and 10 compete with four apparatus routines. Our Level 9/10
gymnasts are encouraged to participate in as many events as possible prior to the US National Qualifier to gain competitive experince and stability. USA Gymnastics rules and policies estabilish guidlines for advancement to the USA National Championship.
Minimum hours required per week:
Level 9/10: 15+ hours/week

The selected gymansts are invited to participate in training camps with world-experts at US Olympic Training Centers.
Every year, NorthWest Rhythmic's gymnasts have been selected into these Elite Developement Programs
USA National Team
Each year, the USA National Teams (Junior and Senior) are announced at the US National Championship. The top 12 ranked Junior and Senior Level 10 Elite gymnats in the country are named to the USA National Team. National Team members represent the United States at international events.
